Pair facing weapons charges in Banting lockdown incident
Two Banting students have been formally charged for their roles in
triggering an approximate two hour lockdown on Feb. 4 shortly before 1
pm, after witnesses described watching one of the suspects threaten
another student with a handgun, then concealed the weapon in another
The two male students were arrested and OPP located a pellet gun that
resembled a .357 handgun.
One was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
uttering threats, and assault, while the other is charged with
possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose charge.
Both were released into their parents custody, with court appearances
scheduled in March.
