Block heater blamed for Essa barn fire

A fire destroyed a barn in Essa last night believed to have been sparked by a block heater inside the structure.

 

Essa, supported by mutual aid from New Tecumseth, Adjala-Tos, and Clearview were called to the scene at 7199 Cty Rd 10 between Cty Rd 21 and 20 Sideroad, approximately 9 pm.

 

The barn held equipment and machinery, but there was no one in the barn time, or any livestock. No injuries were reported.
