Cable Bridge proposes higher density residential to infill 14th Line in Briar Hill
Posted April 22, 2025
New Tecumseth council will host a public planning meeting tomorrow night (April 23) to deal with a pair of applications from Cable Bridge (Biffis family development arm) to build 88 residential units over two sites, on opposite ends of the 14th Line along Briar Hill including a three storey apartment building.
The first requies an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment at 6286 14th Line - (Top image, immediately east of CW Leach RD) to High Density Residential and establish a site-specific exception to permit the development of 10 freehold semi-detached dwellings, one townhouse block consisting of three units, and a three-storey apartment building consisting of 27 residential units for a total of 40 units.
The property includes a single detached house on 1.6 acres, with 68 metres of frontage along 14th Line. It is fully serviced by private water and wastewater.
Cable Bridge also has applied for a Draft Plan of Subdivision and Zoning By-law Amendment at 5810 14th Line to develop five single-detached dwellings and seven townhouse blocks consisting of 43 units for a total of 48.
Zoning amendment would rezone the subject property from Agricultural One (A1) to low rise residential uses.
The planning meeting begins at 6 pm in the council chambers and is open to the public, including for comments on the applications.
