First phase of Beeton Community Centre included in 2025 budget

Barring any further delays, a new Beeton Community Centre (BCC) could be open by 2027 funded fully by the recreational component of development charges.
New Tecumseth council approved the project in the 2025 budget as the initial phase that will include a gymnasium, fitness centre, changerooms, shower, washrooms, meeting rooms, community hall and kitchen at an estimated cost of approximately $16 million. The decision to move forward with Phase 1 is because it's eligible to be financed by DCs. An ice (double) rink element is not DC eligible at this time, which would rely on a combination of grants and taxation.
Plans and drawings will be updated to reflect the phased development, which will be constructed adjacent to Beeton Arena.
Ward 6 Beeton councillor Nicole Cox said the decision reflects council’s commitment to have a dedicated space for recreational and community activities.
"The potential for ice installation will continue to be explored in future planning stages, keeping in mind the feedback and priorities of our residents" said Cox. "In the meantime, the current Beeton arena will remain fully operational to serve the community’s needs. Residents can continue to enjoy the facility for their recreational activities, and there will be no disruption in its availability as we move toward this significant upgrade."
