Tenders, clearly marked as to contents, will be received by the Town of New Tecumseth until: 2:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday March 30, 2010

for the road reconstruction on Sir Frederick Banting Road from Victoria Street East to John W. Taylor Avenue (being approximately 750 meters), in the Community of Alliston.

A Mandatory Bidders Meeting of all proponents for this tender will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at 2:00p.m. at the Alliston Branch Library located at 17 Victoria St. East, Alliston, Ontario, L9R 1V6, (705) 435-5651, to ensure any questions or concerns are addressed.

The scope of work under this contract includes the full road reconstruction of Sir Frederick Banting Road from Victoria Street to 200 metres north of John W. Taylor Avenue in the Community of Alliston, in the Town of New Tecumseth. The work includes, but is not limited to, clearing and topsoil stripping, earth excavation and grading, removals, installation of various sized storm sewer and fire hydrants, service connections and appurtenances; road granulars, concrete curb and gutter, retaining walls, concrete sidewalk, driveway restoration, boulevard trees, topsoil and seed and sod, base course and surface course asphalt. The project also includes the removal of the existing one-lane bridge across the Boyne River and replacement with a two-lane structure as well as intersection improvements and traffic signals at the intersection of Sir Frederick Banting Road and Victoria Street East.

Complete tender documents will be available at the offices of the Town of New Tecumseth Administration Centre for the sum of $52.50 ($50.00 plus GST) per set payable to the Town of New Tecumseth that is non- refundable.

Each tender must be accompanied by a certified tender deposit (Bid Security) in the amount of 10 per cent of the total bid price (excluding taxes) made payable to the Town of New Tecumseth and an Agreement to Bond providing for a 100 per cent Performance Bond and a 50 per cent Labour and Material Payment Bond.

The lowest or any tender is not necessarily accepted.
