Suspect sought in reported break and enters at hospital, Good Samaritan

Posted March 13, 2017

Nottawasaga OPP is investigating break-ins at Stevenson Memorial Hospital and Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Alliston that reportedly took place on the same day last month.

Police reported this afternoon they were alerted to the hospital incident on Thurs., Feb. 23 at 7:52

"Just before 7 p.m., a hospital security officer was conducting patrols on the lower level of the hospital when they located an insecure door to the auxiliary room and located a male inside. He spoke to the security officer briefly, stating he was an auxiliary member and then left, continuing down the hallway and exiting through a staircase in an unknown direction," according to the press release. "After the male left, the security officer observed the door to the auxiliary room to be damaged and missing the locking mechanism. There was no indication that anything was missing. Through further investigation, the door to the mechanical room located inside the hospital was also damaged, but no entry was gained."

OPP were called the following day about a similar incident that took place at Good Samaritan. Security surveillance video showed the suspect actually broke into the Home at approximately  5:40 pm on February 23, just prior to the SMH report.

"The suspect gained entry into the office through the reception window and also gained entry into the manager's and administrators offices. There was an undetermined amount of cash taken and the doors to the manager and administrators offices were damaged."

The suspect is described to be male, 30's, 5'9 - 5'10, slim build, facial hair, mustache and short brown hair.
