Parkin to leave New Tecumseth CAO post for return to Barrie ranks

Posted December 6, 2018

The Blaine Parkin era in New Tecumseth will end Jan. 15, 2019 when the CAO returns to the City of Barrie as its General Manager of Infrastructure and Growth Management.

Mr. Parkin, who tendered his resignation yesterday morning, was hired as New Tecumseth's first full-time Deputy CAO in 2015 coming over after 10 years with Barrie.

In July 2017, he was appointed CAO, replacing Brendan Holly. New Tecumseth did not refill the Deputy CAO position.

His exit comes on the heels of a new term of council sworn in Monday night. Council will determine its path for recruiting a new CAO.

"It has been an honour and pleasure serving the Town of New Tecumseth," said Mr. Parkin. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Town and am so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the great team here."
