Town readies to sell 10 public properties

New Tecumseth's largest ever sell-off of public properties
will move closer to market with tonight's expected approval to declare
a list of 10 holdings as surplus for disposition.
10 Wellington Street East, Alliston.
Administration Centre. Tagged as redevelopment property, with more
value if bundled with 14 Wellington Street.
14 Wellington Street, Alliston. The
Administration Centre parking lot.
4 Elizabeth Street, Alliston. Half acre
property backing onto Boyne River, zoned urban commercial core, but
shows as potential for multiple residential or commercial.
17 Victoria Street East, Alliston. Alliston
library branch, all brick building, 43' x 130 lot.
Tupper Street Land. Vacant land abutting
industrial designation, on abandoned CN Rail line. Marked for high
4213 Sideroad 20. Vacant land, agricultural,
environmental protection. Requires NVCA approval for rural residential
285 Centre Street, Beeton. Former wastewater
pumping station site, corner lot 50' x 115'. Marked as
Prospect Street, Vacant Land, former hydro
sub station. Lot size 58.27 x 75. Undersized for residential, would
Intersection of 10th Sideroad and Highway 89.
Will be vacant land once the realignment with the 6th Line of Essa is
5594 Concession Road 3, Adjala Tosorontio.
Former gravel pit owned by Tecumseth Township, 33 acre licensed gravel
pit - which has been fully extracted.
However, the administration centre, its parking lot, Alliston
library branch building, will be held back from any listing "until
staff reports back to the Committee of the Whole with an update
on the new Administration Centre."
Additionally, the Prospect Street parcel is to be reconfigured
with 90 Prospect Street and reevaluated before it's offered for sale.
Marc Ronan, the Town's real estate broker, who provided the
intial appraisals and options available, will handle the sales.
Andrew, Thompson & Associates Ltd. have provided the Town
with updated Appraisal Reports which are confidential. Their fee is to
be repaid from proceeds of the property sales.
