Town readies to sell 10 public properties

Posted May 15, 2017

New Tecumseth's largest ever sell-off of public properties will move closer to market with tonight's expected approval to declare a list of 10 holdings as surplus for disposition.

10 Wellington Street East, Alliston. Administration Centre. Tagged as redevelopment property, with more value if bundled with 14 Wellington Street.

14 Wellington Street, Alliston. The Administration Centre parking lot.

4 Elizabeth Street, Alliston. Half acre property backing onto Boyne River, zoned urban commercial core, but shows as potential for multiple residential or commercial.

17 Victoria Street East, Alliston. Alliston library branch, all brick building, 43' x 130 lot.

Tupper Street Land. Vacant land abutting industrial designation, on abandoned CN Rail line. Marked for high desity residential.

4213 Sideroad 20. Vacant land, agricultural, environmental protection. Requires NVCA approval for rural residential building site.

285 Centre Street, Beeton. Former wastewater pumping station site, corner lot 50'  x 115'. Marked as residential potential.

Prospect Street, Vacant Land, former hydro sub station. Lot size 58.27 x 75. Undersized for residential, would require variance.

Intersection of 10th Sideroad and Highway 89. Will be vacant land once the realignment with the 6th Line of Essa is complete.

5594 Concession Road 3, Adjala Tosorontio. Former gravel pit owned by Tecumseth Township, 33 acre licensed gravel pit - which has been fully extracted.

However, the administration centre, its parking lot, Alliston library branch building, will be held back from any listing "until staff reports back to the Committee of the Whole with an update on the new Administration Centre."

Additionally, the Prospect Street parcel is to be reconfigured with 90 Prospect Street and reevaluated before it's offered for sale.

Marc Ronan, the Town's real estate broker, who provided the intial appraisals and options available, will handle the sales.

Andrew, Thompson & Associates Ltd. have provided the Town with updated Appraisal Reports which are confidential. Their fee is to be repaid from proceeds of the property sales.
