Alliston Mills Plaza under new ownership

Posted May 19, 2017

Liberty Development Corp. is the new owner of Alliston Mills Plaza on Young St./Hwy 89 in Alliston.

The GTA real estate development company, currently building condo and commercial units as part of the new "downtown" in Vaughan, purchased the plaza from KingSett Capital. No details of value were provided. It's the third time its been sold since 2006.

Alliston Mills covers approximately 12 acres along Young Street, between King and Industrial Parkway. It's anchored by Zehr's and Canadian Tire and includes LCBO, Staples, Giant Tiger, SportChek, and Mark's Work Warehouse.

Present vacancies include both pad and in-line space ranging in size from 2,400 square feet to 9,000 square feet. "Suggested uses include pharmacy, financial, food service or service/convenience oriented tenants," according to the leasing pitch.

The plaza's site plan layout continues to show Imagine Cinemas, and its proposed five screen movie theatre, as a tenant (in the rear, west side). The description states it was to be open in 2016. At this post, Free Press Online was trying to confirm whether the Cinema remains an active tenant prospect.
