Innisfil man facing 94 charges for break and enter spree

South Simcoe Police reported today they arrested a 33-year-old Innisfil man on Tuesday, linking him to at least 17 break-ins dating back to September 2019.

He is alleged to have broken into four schools, four churches and nine businesses in Bradford and Innisfil during overnight hours and mainly targeted safes.

An investigation involving the SSP's Street Crime Unit "and several policing partners" identified and arrested the suspect on January 7, 2020, after executing a search warrant at a home in Innisfil. Items seized included an ATV, safes, cash registers and cutting tools.

William Pittman, 33, of Innisfil, was charged with: 17 counts Break-and-Enter; 15 counts Possession of Break In Instruments; nine counts Theft; nine counts Disguise with Intent; 16 counts Mischief; and 28 counts Fail to Comply.

The accused remains in custody. The investigation is ongoing in the Simcoe County area.

"South Simcoe Police Service officers want to hear from anyone with further information who may have been victimized or witnessed suspicious activity."
