Two suffer life threatening injuries in head-on collision near Alliston

Two people remain in critical condition following a head-on collision yesterday morning in Adjala-Tosorontio.

Nottawasaga OPP reported this morning, the collision occurred at approximately 8:30 am (Jan. 27) on Concession Road 5, south of the 25th Sideroad between a southbound vehicle and a northbound vehicle causing extensive front end damage to both vehicles.

"The 23-year-old male driver and the 18-year-old female passenger of the southbound vehicle were transferred by air ambulance to a Toronto hospital with life-threatening injuries and they remain in critical condition," according to police. "The 81-year-old male driver of the northbound vehicle was land-transferred to a local hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries."

All three involved are from Adjala-Tosorontio.

The road remained closed for several hours for the Central Region Technical Traffic Collision investigation, which continues.
