Tosorontio

A post mortem on the 77-year-old male driver who died last night in a
two-vehicle collision on Hwy 89 was expected to take place today to
determine whether medical distress was a factor in the head-on crash.
The deceased, from Adjala Tosorontio, (whose name at this post is not
released), was westbound on Hwy 89 in a black Buick sedan when he
crossed into the eastbound lanes at approximately 6:23 pm, between
Conc. 7 and Dean Drive, striking a gray Dodge pick-up truck with four
occupants.
A 57-year-old male, 49-year-old female, 17-year-old female, and
12-year-old male, were transported to Stevenson Memorial Hospital and
treated for minor injuries.
Adjala Tosorontio firefighters extracted the senior, who had no vital
signs, from his vehicle.
Hwy 89 between Cty Rd 50 and Conc. 7 was closed for several hours for
the investigation.
If medical issue is determined as the cause, it would be the second such fatality in about a week's span. On June 29, an 87-year-old male struck a light post at the intersection of Industrial Parkway and Young Street and was dead at the scene. No one else was involved in the crash, which was determined to have been caused by medical distress.
